Kings Road are delighted to announce that they are taking part in The National Nutcracker Project 2016 run by the Royal Opera House. Thirty pupils from Year 5 are currently undertaking a 10 week creative challenge which is designed to inspire imaginative thinking, build skills and enrich pupils’ and teachers’ experience of the art form.
So far, the thirty pupils have been working incredibly hard to create an imaginative piece based around The BFG by Roald Dahl. They have learned about using space, working in unison and expression through dance.
At the end of the creative challenge we will submit a final dance piece. Our performance will be judged by a Royal Ballet panel and they will select a winner.
The participating Year 5 children will have the opportunity to attend a cinema screening of The Nutcracker. The winning school will attend a special matinee performance of The Nutcracker at the Royal Opera House in London.
