Author of the Month - Matt Brown

February 2020

Matt Brown is an author and a broadcaster who has presented on some of the UK's most popular TV shows like Nickelodeon, The Big Breakfast and I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! Although, he would readily admit that he has presented some of the UK's worst ever shows too! Matt lives with his family in a house in Buckinghamshire. He has two sausage dogs (Bea and Ziggy) and two chickens (Twinklez and Yeti). He's pretty sure there are some worms and slugs in his garden but he doesn't know their names so doesn't consider them to be technically part of his family. He was once bitten by a dolphin and finds bits of fruit in cheese completely unacceptable.

Matt has written a series of books about a boy called Compton Valance, who accidentally creates his own time machine out of disgusting 13-week-old sandwich. The Compton Valance series has been described as "funny, clever and brilliant" by Dermot O'Leary.

Aliens Invaded My Talent Show! was published by Usborne in June, 2018. It's a story about friendship, magic and, well, aliens invading a talent show. All of Matt’s books are available for pre-order and purchase through the school in collaboration with Usborne Books at Home. He will be visiting the school on Monday 2nd March to hold a signing in the Main Hall from 3:15pm, where limited quantities of books will also be available for purchase.
